Welcome to Fry/Straka
Worldwide Reach | Environmental Focus | Award-Winning Designs | Creative Distinction
Golf Course Architects Dana Fry and Jason Straka formed Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design in 2012, but they’ve been working together for the better part of 30 years. This partnership, inclusive of expert in-house staff and a worldwide network of trusted partners, seeks to serve clients who recognize tradition, environmental stewardship and cutting-edge technical prowess not as obligations, but as reliable, strategic, fruitful, honorable paths to opportunity, to creative distinction and market leadership. It helps that Dana and Jason thoroughly enjoy what they do. They love being on site with clients, maximizing the golfing potential and natural gifts of each and every project, which results in visually stunning, yet environmentally sustainable golf courses. These core beliefs enable Fry/Straka to deliver first-class service and a diversity of award-winning golf course designs time and time again, regardless of terrain, climate or budget.

Testimonials
-
“For Fry, every new golf course design is more of a masterpiece than the one he previously completed. Every project explores new territory, and Fry gives each one so much personal attention that is always spectacular, fresh, and often trend-setting.”
Gaylene Salomons, Naples Illustrated
-
"What hasn’t changed since day one is Straka’s focus on the environment. Seemingly every design firm talks the talk, but Straka has walked the walk since the 1990s."
Joe Passov, Sports Illustrated
-
"Erin Hills is the Field of Dreams for golf. The vision of the designers was incredible."
Mike Whan, CEO USGA
-
"It’s still hard for me to understand how Dana’s conceptual vision works, how he can see what can happen to a golf hole before the earthwork even begins. It’s sort of amazing."
Hal Phillips, Golf Course Industry
-
"Not only is the golf course stunning, but every type of player also walks away with a ‘wow, this is a beautiful golf course’. Architects Dana and Jason listened to our members and delivered beyond anything that we imagined."
Bill Langley, General Manager, The Club at Quail Ridge
-
"Every golf-course design project undertaken by Fry/ Straka Global Golf Course Design assumes a position of great importance, as evidenced by the level of attention bestowed on each one."
Asian Club Business
-
"Over the last two decades, Jason Straka has been considered a leading global authority on sustainable golf course design."
John Failla, Founder Golf Sustainability
-
"In carving this course out of a bland barley field, Dana Fry ran the risk of producing golf’s equivalent of a game of Checkers. But his brilliant bunker placement and green contours elevate Arcadia Bluffs South to a game of three-dimension Chess."
Ron Whitten, Golf Digest
Recent news about Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design and the golf courses we have designed
"Curracloe" translates from Gaelic to mean marsh—a fitting name for a site where a natural wetland separates the lush golf corridors from the towering seaside dunes. Curracloe Links recently caught up with golf course architect Jason Straka to discuss the unique "sandscape" that defines the course. From the strategic "ground game" built into the layout to the massive rolling hills of sand, the course is designed to play fast and firm. Check out the video in the link to hear Jason explain why this project is more than just a course—it’s a celebration of its environment.
At Fry/Straka, one of our core values is "Creative Distinction"—creating golf courses with their own distinct personality that respect the natural land while providing a world-class test of the game.
We are thrilled to see this vision recognized by Golf Digest as three of our designs have earned their place among the elite in their latest ranking of the The 50 Greatest Courses Built Since 2000.
We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our signature designs have been recognized by LINKS Magazine in the inaugural LINKS 100, a definitive ranking of the top golf courses in the United States and the World.
Earning a spot on this list is a distinct honor, as the rankings are determined exclusively by the votes of our peers—the professional members of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA), and the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects (SAGCA).
The stunning Curracloe Links at Ravenport Resort doesn't open for play until the spring of 2027, but golfers can already check for availability and tee times for the opportunity to play Ireland's newest spectacular links.
With play set to begin on the April 1 2027, Curracloe Links is poised to spearhead what will become one of Ireland’s leading golf destinations - the sunny south east. Located adjacent to the iconic Curracloe Beach, the 18-hole links course has been masterfully brought to life by the award-winning architecture team of Jason Straka and Dana Fry, renowned for their environmentally sensitive and strategic approach to golf course architecture.
